Find out how engineers build the world at our free Pi: Platform for Investigation

For immediate release

Join some amazing engineers at the Museum of Science and Industry for Pi: Platform for Investigation – Building the World to find out how they have constructed the places we live, play and travel.

There will be a host of fun, hands-on activities, including bridge building, making Archimedes screws from plastic bottles, creating giant tetrahedrons, laying Lego tracks and virtual reality.

This free event will provide an opportunity to meet real-life scientists from the Institution of Civil Engineers.

The event is on Saturday 3 February 2018 between 10.30–15.30; just drop in anytime.

Pi: Platform for Investigation – Powered by Siemens is a monthly event where families discover cutting edge research that's happening right now in and around Manchester and the North West.

Each month our partners from universities, research centres and other organisations take over our purpose-built high-tech platform, complete with computer ports and experiment tables, to introduce visitors of all ages to important innovations via conversation and fun.
