Power Up is a hands-on, fully interactive gaming experience, featuring the very best video games and consoles from the past five decades. 

Challenge learners' problem-solving skills, encourage collaboration with multiplayer showdowns, and sharpen critical thinking and reasoning in a fun and relaxed environment.  

From Pong to Pacman, Minecraft to Mario and more, your group can discover retro classics and test out some of the latest virtual reality experiences at this ultimate gaming extravaganza.

Please note, building work is taking place across the museum as part of our ongoing restoration project. This means that construction noise can sometimes be heard in this gallery.

Term time weekdays

On weekdays during term time, groups can book a 60-minute slot in Power Up, when it's not normally open to visitors.  

There is a minimum group size of 20 and a maximum of 40 per timeslot. We may be able to accommodate smaller or larger groups on request.

Weekends and holidays

On weekends, school holidays and bank holidays, groups can experience Power Up along with other museum visitors.

There is a maximum group size of 40 per timeslot. There is no minimum group size.

Prices

  • Schools, home educators and other formal education groups – £5.50 per person
  • Informal education groups (includes uniformed groups such as Girlguiding or Scouts, summer schools, youth and community organisations) – £6.00 per person (this is a 25% discount on our standard prices)
  • Other groups (such as adult interest groups and groups organised through tour operators) – £6.80 per person (this is a 15% discount on our standard prices)
