Space School

Can you handle space pressure? Are you prepped for take-off? Would you wear a space-nappy!? If the answer is ‘yes’, we need you!

From sizzling heat to Zero G, we'll explore the problems that scientists face as they try to get close to the Sun and learn its secrets. Expect big, exciting experiments. Join the team, earn your stripes, and graduate from Space School!

What will they learn?

  • Through a series of large-scale explosive demonstrations, students will develop their knowledge of material properties, changing states (including reversible and irreversible change), the fire triangle, and the shape and movement of the Sun.
  • Collaborating in an investigation, students will develop their scientific working skills, including observation, prediction and experimentation.
  • That changes of state can either be reversible or irreversible, as we demonstrate the effects of space on the human body.
  • Through playful participation and varied interaction with a museum Explainer, students will enjoy the experience, developing positive perceptions of science.

NB: Space School will include loud bangs and flashing lights, which may not be suitable for everyone, so please consider this before booking. If you have any questions regarding this, please feel free to get in touch.
