We are all climate superheroes, protecting the natural world with the choices we make every day. Some people choose jobs that help to protect our planet.

All the people featured here are also STEM Ambassadors—volunteers sharing their enthusiasm for science, technology, engineering and maths with young people.

What is a STEM Ambassador?

STEM Ambassadors are volunteers from science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related jobs and backgrounds. Their enthusiasm and knowledge helps bring STEM subjects to life.

The Science and Industry Museum and Science Museum Group is proud to hold the contract for the Trans Pennine STEM Ambassador hub, covering Greater Manchester, West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire. In Manchester we have more than 1,200 STEM Ambassador volunteers giving up their time to inspire and engage young people with STEM subjects and careers. Manchester has a large digital, construction and health infrastructure, so recruiting young people with these skills is vital to the future of our economy and growth as a city.
