Get Curious: Discover science in our world

Follow your curiosity and learn more about the big ideas and innovations that are changing our world today.

Meet people working in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) and find out more about what they do through fun demonstrations and interactive activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Look out for our brand-new structure, which will be popping up for each Get Curious event. This colourful and eco-friendly construction was built by local designers No Chintz and funded by Siemens.

26 and 27 October

Don’t miss our next Get Curious events on 26 and 27 October and get stuck into a special programme all about the body, inspired by our special exhibition Cancer Revolution: Science, innovation and hope.

On 26 October, get involved with fun activities and games from our STEM Ambassadors. Find out more about a career in STEM while learning all about the body.

On 27 October, discover what’s in our blood, how it is pumped around our body and more with staff and students from Manchester Metropolitan University.

20 November

Get Curious will be back on 20 November with fun activities and amazing demonstrations exploring how we can reuse, repair and recycle!

Join Manchester Metropolitan University and discover how single-use plastic could be reused and given new life, and how 3D printing could be the repair shop of the future. Learn some useful skills to help you mend your favourite clothes with the MMU Fashion institute.

Scheduled dates may be subject to change and themes for each activity will be announced soon. Sign up for our newsletter to find out more.
