About the talk

To tie in with International Women's Day on 8 March, the Science Museum Group celebrated early with a special live-streamed recording of Deborah Frances-White's smash-hit podcast The Guilty Feminist, discussing all things women in medicine and healthcare with the following special guests:

  • Jo Brand (co-presenter): BAFTA-winning comedian, actor and writer—and former psychiatric nurse—whose many writing credits include Getting On, acclaimed for its realistic portrayal of an NHS hospital.
  • Dame Sally Davies DBE: UK Special Envoy on Antimicrobial Resistance, Master of Trinity College Cambridge, and former Chief Medical Officer for England.
  • Angela Saini: Science journalist, author of Inferior: How Science Got Women Wrong and Superior: The Return of Race Science

This event is a part of the Science Museum Group's Open Talk programme, a series of events that aims to promote STEM to everyone and to encourage an understanding of both the causes and effects of discrimination.
