Science Showdown

Age: Recommended for ages 5 and older

What would win in a fight: a bulb or a speaker? Electrical items go to war in this power-packed show.

Featuring live experiments and oodles of audience participation, you are invited to come and explore the power of electricity and decide once and for all which of our electrical applications will be crowned champion of the Science Showdown."

Age: Recommended for ages 7 and older

You're invited to the premiere of a brand new film and you are the director.  Create your own mini projector, design a slide, pop it onto your phone and light it up for everyone to see. How will your story end?

This activity is free, but booking is required at the front desk.

Kaleidoscopes

Time: 14.30–16.30
Age: Recommended for ages 5 and older

Twist and turn to see what popping patterns and suprising shapes you can create when you make your very own kaleidoscope. Discover the magic of mirrors and reflection in this hands-on workshop. 

Power Packs for Early Years Engineers

Time: 14.00
Age: 2–4

Pick up a Power Pack from the front desk and join one of our Explainers to explore the sights, smells and sounds of the museum's giant engines. This is a special guided session on how pretending and play can make the adventure even better for younger visitors.
