Science and Industry Museum

Makefest is back for 2019, and taking over the museum for another weekend of tinkering, testing, coding and creating.

Get hands-on with dozens of DIY activities, brought to you by a whole host of engineers, hackers, coders, makers, artists and scientists.

Anyone can join in, regardless of experience—just giving something a go! That's where the real innovation (and fun) starts.

We're happy to welcome back Gadget Factory's light-up badge workshop in association with Edinburgh Science Festival and Siemens for 2019. You'll get to solder your own badge with the help of the Gadget Factory team and find out how circuits work.

In previous years, visitors have had the chance to make bananas into musical instruments, build battle robots from scrap, take part in a drone rescue mission and a help hack into a sweet machine. Expect even more making mayhem on 25 and 26 May this year.

Ticketing information and more announcements coming soon.

Try everything, make something and get to grips with your inner inventor at MakeFest 2019.
