Operation Ouch! Brains, Bogies and You

Experitots is a regular event specially designed for children aged 0–4.

During these playful sessions, toddlers and their adults are encouraged to explore and experiment in the exhibition together. Our team of friendly Explainers are on hand to support young explorers throughout the morning.

Sessions in Operation Ouch! Brains, Bogies and You will cost £10. Ages 3 and under free.

These sensory-friendly sessions are specially designed for those who prefer an adjusted environment.  

At these times, Operation Ouch! Brains, Bogies and You will have a smaller capacity, with adjusted sound levels throughout the exhibition. There will also be additional sensory activities to enjoy with our Explainers.

Prices shown include a donation:

• Adult – £10.00
• Children – £10.00
• Free for ages 3 and under
• Families and small groups (Groups of 3–9 people, one of whom must be a child) – £1.00 off per ticket. Discount will be applied automatically as part of the booking process.

Formal education groups

Tickets for school and formal education groups cost £5.00 each (this is a 50% discount on our standard prices).

Informal education groups 

Informal education groups (includes uniformed groups such as Girlguiding or scouts, summer schools, youth and community organisations) – £7.50 per person (this is a 25% discount on our standard prices).

Other groups 

Groups of more than 10 (such as adult interest groups and groups organised through tour operators) – £8.50 per person (this is a 15% discount on our standard prices).

Dr Chris, Dr Xand and Dr Ronx are the presenters of BBC Children's and Education series, Operation Ouch!, which has been brought to life through this exhibition, Operation Ouch! Brains, Bogies and You.

The three Doctors are an integral part of the exhibition experience. They will pop up digitally throughout the exhibition, appearing on-screen to help visitors understand more about the science of digestion, as well as featuring across illustrations and other elements of the exhibition content.

A range of interactive and entertaining Operation Ouch!-inspired toys, games, kits and experiments will be available to buy online and in the Science and Industry Museum shop.

There will be BSL interpreted tours of this exhibition. Sign up to our newsletter to find out when tickets for these events are available.
